Description

Faith Enough to Build a Boat

Mount Ararat rises 16,854 feet (5,137 meters) into the sky of eastern Turkey, near the borders of Iran and Armenia. It is a snow-capped, dormant volcano with two peaks — Greater Ararat and Little Ararat. It is the tallest mountain in Turkey. And it is the mountain most commonly linked to one of the Bible's most dramatic stories: Noah and the flood.

According to Genesis chapters 6–9, God saw that the world had become violent and corrupt. So he decided to start over. But one man stood out. Noah. God told Noah to build a massive boat — an ark — and fill it with his family and two of every kind of animal. Then God sent a flood that covered the earth.

When the water finally went down, the ark came to rest on the "mountains of Ararat" (Genesis 8:4). Hebrews 11:7 picks up the story from a different angle: "When God warned Noah what was coming, Noah had the faith to believe it." He built the boat before a single drop of rain fell. That's the kind of faith this map is about.

This map brings the story to life by showing you where it happened — or at least where tradition says it happened. You'll see the Ararat mountain range in 3D-style terrain, with Greater and Little Ararat rising above the surrounding landscape. It puts the Bible's words into something you can see, making the story feel real and grounded.

Whether you're new to the Bible or just exploring, this map helps you picture one of its most famous stories — and the faith it took to act on a warning no one else believed.
