* The limit of 50 maps is in place to prevent the widespread publication of a significant portion of the TCEB map collection. This is to ensure that Bible readers continue purchasing the maps that help fund the TCEB website, rather than accessing them for free on other sites.
If you have a need to publish more than 50 maps, please contact the TCEB office to discuss an amendment to your license agreement.

Casual English Bible Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Casual English Bible®?
The Casual English Bible® is an easy-to-read Bible paraphrase with detailed footnotes, Bible book introductions, and Q&A Bible study sections, all without theological jargon—and it has over 1,000+ 3D-study Bible Maps available.
Who wrote the paraphrase?
Stephen M. Miller—an award-winning, bestselling Christian author known for making Bible study easier for everyday readers. He's paraphrased scholars into everyday English and written books about the Bible and Christianity for 40+ years. His books have sold over two million copies.
Why another Bible version?
This version started as Miller's personal devotions. When he realized his paraphrasing style could help others understand Scripture more clearly, he shared it publicly. For many, it's become a fresh and approachable way to engage with the Bible.
What's the theological bent of this paraphrase?
The goal is no bent at all. TCEB lets the Bible speak for itself—in casual, clear English. When Scripture is controversial or unclear, footnotes offer multiple interpretations and let readers decide.
What's the process of paraphrasing?
Miller works with interlinear Bibles and commentaries to understand the original meaning and translate it into everyday English. When meanings are fuzzy to even the most renowned scholars, he makes his best-educated guess—and flags it with a footnote for transparency.
How were the maps made?
Each map was personally made by Stephen M. Miller using super-geeky cartography software, high-definition 3D modeling tools. He gathers elevation data from international space agencies in the US, Europe, and Japan. Then he lays satellite photos on the data to produce the maps from any elevation and angle he chooses. Some of his map data for Israel and the adjoining lands were provided exclusively to him from the Survey of Israel, the nation's agency in charge of mapping the land. Miller's maps are geographically accurate, detailed, and designed to bring Bible lands and stories to life. These maps are designed to deepen your study and help you visually understand Scripture.
Can I download the maps?
Yes! All maps are available for purchase and licensing, and are available for dowload instantly. Whether you're using them for personal study, classroom teaching, or publishing projects, you can download the maps through our Map Store and choose the license that fits your needs.
