Psalm 134
Praise the church in worship
Lift your hands in praise
Road trip song[1]
1 Listen up,All of you who serve the LORD,
Every night in the LORD’s house.
Praise the LORD.
2 Lift your hands in the sanctuary
And praise the LORD.
3 May the LORD in Jerusalem,[2]
Creator of heaven and earth,
Bless your life with goodness.
Notes
1134:1
The subtitle wasn’t part of the original psalm. Psalms 120-134 are called songs of ascent, possibly because Jewish pilgrims sang these songs while traveling up into the Judean hills to celebrate a Jewish holiday in Jerusalem.
2134:3
Literally, “Zion,” a term of endearment for Jerusalem, much like “Big Apple” is for New York City.
