Lord of the humble
Thank God every day1Thank you, LORD.
People who love the LORD, thank him.
Thank him for who he is.
2Let’s thank the LORD for who he is.
Let’s always praise him.
3When the sun rises,
When the sun sets,
And every minute in between,
Thank the LORD for who he is.
4All nations answer to the LORD.
He is honored from here to high heaven.
5Who could possibly compare to the LORD our God,
Who reigns from heaven,
6And who looks down on us
Through the skies and onto the earth?
He lifts the lowdown7He lifts the dirt-poor from poverty.
He rescues the needy, discarded as trash.
8He sits them at the head of the table,
Right beside the kings, queens, and princes.
9He gives children to women previously infertile.
Ladies become mommies to their happy families.
And we thank the good LORD for that.
The Hebrew word is hallelujah, which is often translated as “praise the LORD.”
Literally, “Praise the name of the LORD.”
